Paragon has successfully completed its fourth annual Technical Course in Licensing Digital and Nuclear Instrumentation Systems, held in late February in Fort Worth, Texas. The event brought together industry professionals, engineers, and subject matter experts for an in-depth exploration of the latest standards, technologies, and regulatory requirements shaping the nuclear instrumentation landscape.

Course Overview
The course provided attendees with a comprehensive perspective on the guidelines and requirements set forth by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), as well as insights from industry consensus standards organizations and real-world plant-specific experience. These sessions gave participants a well-rounded understanding of both the regulatory framework and the practical challenges faced in the field.

Highlights
Among the highlights of this year’s course was a live demonstration of the High Integrity Protection System (HIPS), which showcased its capabilities and design principles in a hands-on setting. Attendees also received a thorough overview of Nuclear Instrumentation System (NIS) technology and its wide range of applications within the nuclear power industry.

The course sparked exceptional discussion among participants, with attendees actively engaging with presenters and one another to share experiences, ask questions, and explore emerging challenges and solutions. This collaborative exchange of knowledge is a hallmark of Paragon’s annual technical courses and continues to make them a valued resource for the industry.
